Principles (Core Rules)
- Secure by default. Least privilege always. Allow what is needed; deny everything else.
- All input is hostile until validated. Boundary validation, never optional.
- Defense in depth — assume each control will fail and stack the next.
- Threat-model before solutioning. Assets first, attackers second, mitigations third.
- Visibility over obscurity. Logging, audit trails, monitoring — secrecy is not a control.
- Friction in auth is a feature, not a bug.
- Automate security gates; shift left into design.

- Verification — how to test the mitigation works, what to monitor in production.
